Apparently there isn't a Horkey thread, just individual print threads. Well let's use this one for all stuff Horkey.
Apparently Jay Ryan and Aaron are teaming up for another collaborative print:
http://gigposters.com/forums/posters/152185-horkey-ryan-collab-print-2-a.html
Should be interesting to see what comes of that.

You should link of those pictures you took at the show in Windom if you still have them online. Horkey is the best of the best when it comes to drawing and lettering IMO.

Holy cow, it's up already? Just like yesterday they were just finishing the printing process and said they didn't know when it would be up or for how much. They didn't even know how many were going to be in the edition. :lol
$120 is not a bad price at all considering what Versus went for, I just can't get into the print though. I'm surprised there wasn't the fancy edition like with Versus.

The ONLY thing that bugs me out and is swaying me not to purchase is the little drool or spit thing coming from the thingomobobber at the top of the house/skate ramp. It's the first thing that attracts my eye and it's just a little too distracting. Hoping it sells out soon so I don't just impulse buy it :lol
Bluecow003

:lol I hadn't even noticed that until you pointed it out. I don't get the meaning of the piece at all, so I don't feel compelled to buy it. It's very well done of course, but I just don't know what it's trying to show exactly.

I'd really like this print, but I know I'd never hang it. Plus, if I was going for it, I'd go big or go home and try for the variant. $120 is a bit much to just sit around. I bet it just looks incredible in person though. I'd have to really love the movie to want to hang on to it though and since it's tied to a movie I'm not sure how the resale value will go.

1) ummm the coen's did it, so yeah, it's going to be FUCKING AWESOME.
2) If Stout's recent stuff is any indicator it should hold its value well.
...I'd be going to the variant if anything as well.

You're telling me. It was a long sought out find and hard negotiation but it's definitely worth it. I kept going back and looking at those pictures you took in Windom last fall and every time I would stop on the picture of Nesting and just stare. There's so much I love about the print that I don't even know where to begin. I thought I would never own it.

Have you seen the customized prints Horkey has done for fans in the EB forums? In.sane. People send Horkey their prints they own plus a ton of money and he'll add custom handmade additions to the prints and send them back. He even hand draws the shipping labels in his usual script. It's crazy. Anyway, this one guy has a customized Nesting that has hand painted birds on it that almost put Josh Keyes's painting to shame in terms of detail. It's amazing.
Toward the bottom of the page: http://forum.expressobeans.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=51218&start=45
Anyway, you should get your Nesting customized. Might help that both you and Horkey live in Minnesota.

If I knew how to get a hold of Horkey I would for sure try to get it customized with a little doodle. One of my favorites that he did to this was this:

Just subtle enough and fits great with the image. Maybe I'll try to find a lead about contacting him.... but I honestly have no idea where to start.

Thanks Sam! It was a hefty chunk of change but I figure one print on the wall is better than 5 in the flatfile (so I sold a few to support the decision/purchase) especially considering the caliber of this print.
Yeah, Aaron does seem rather elusive.
Indeed he does. The only way I can think of getting ahold of him is through the main printer at Burlesque, Ben LaFond. But I don't know if I want to hassle Bed to get to Aaron. There's a reason Aaron doesn't have a website and email address posted on the internet for all to see so maybe he just doesn't want to be contacted which I can understand.

They're solicited alright, I know that much is true. I'm also guessing that they cost a few hundred bucks after everything is said and done (for the bigger pieces).

Well worth it. I'd pay more than the print for him to do the birds like he did on that one nesting.
No doubt. But from what research I've done on EB, it sounds like he won't be doing any more of his "mini masterpieces" in the near future. According to Hirschy
after the couple people already in line for one of these are completed he will no longer be doing these for the forseable future. Even though he enjoys them they're taking to much time...
So that was a little disheartening to read. But then again, it wouldn't hurt to ask.... which I've decided I'm going to try and do. Somehow.

Nice score.
Long story short, the seller kept the print for a month, then decided to pursue a refund. I gave a full refund and opened the claim with USPS. Got the print back a few days ago, almost nothing wrong at all. Claimed to be almost ruined, IMO it's almost mint.

I sold off some of my precious beauties (all below averages) over on ebeans to round up this cash a couple of weeks ago. I thought I had the Nesting bought a couple of weeks ago from a member, but his ISO fell through so he locked it back up. I am glad this one popped up because all the cash in my paypal account was burning a hole in my pocket and I was worried I would piss it away on new print releases that just live in the flat file. The Nesting will be going directly to the framer- Even my wife is a big fan. I also bought the Whale Bone Grove last night, which I haven't seen in the flesh, but appears to have some of the same magic as Nesting. Hey CB, Have you framed yours yet? I am curious about framing ideas. I probably need to back read throught the framed Horkey thread over on ebeans as well.

I haven't framed mine yet as I might have Aaron do some work on it. Just haven't come up with the money yet so I'm debating whether to frame or have Aaron paint. Aaron's painting will run about the going rate of the print and proper framing will be roughly half that. As for ideas, I've always liked this frame up...
