the article is cool, with some interesting tidbits, but IMO its poorly written and it seems the author didn't check a lot of his/her facts.

...that and DMB doesn't really follow the Dead business model... maybe something similar, but definitely a watered down version. Phish follows the GD model, almost to a tee, and the phish model is significantly different than the DMB model (again, IMO)

i was curious as to what they meant by "illegal live dmb shows" when i read that earlier.

My thoughts as well.

Good example: Shakedown Street - not found in DMB lots.

I would assume the author is referring to the annual package of "photograph + sticker + selection of live tracks, half of which you hate + some novelty you would probably never buy."
