Just because I'm bored, waiting for some things to upload/download, then to set the n3 torrent back up to seed because I still haven't recovered from the jetlag:

Granny - Have heard it at about half of my shows, but I didn't mind it, it hasn't gotten old yet. And he did the "ha, oo! mm, ha, oo!" and "mm baba, mm baba" part which I'd missed the last few times I think.

Typical Situation - Cross another off my list of "still haven't heard live"! Loved it, especially so early in the show, and the jam was great.

The Idea of You - my favorite of the new ones. I don't know the lyrics yet, but I love singing along the chorus.

Lie In Our Graves - haven't gotten it since my first show. One of my favorite songs. The solo (whether by Boyd or Roi) in any version always gets to me, at the points when the chords change and it jumps to a new level. Boyd going crazy triggered the emotion in me and it hit me that this was the best weekend of my life. I got a bit misty :blush

JTR - first heard it in Atlanta last month, still fun as hell to hear. Videotaped the end jam (hopefully will get my videos up soon somewhere)

Crush - good placement of the song. This is the one my sister-in-law really wanted to hear (aside from Long Black Veil). Her first show, only a fan-in-training so I was glad she got something she loved. A great song though

Dreaming Tree - crossed off my list as well. I had a feeling Dave might miss the lyrics, but I loved the way he looked up at the sky while he tried to pick his place up. Loved every second of this one

The Last Stop - I don't think I was the only one, but I called it pretty early into that intro thing, when everyone was saying "What You Are" They're the same chords, but some of us knew he didn't have the electric, so I just knew it had to be it. Another first for me. And it was great. But I felt like it lost energy after the lyrics. Listening to it again, it's just very empty-sounding. That dum-dum, dum-dum, dum-dum part over and over. In other versions it sounds like a lot is going on there, sax, violin, keys. But I just felt like they kept playing that repetitive pulse rhythm a bunch, and I couldn't put my finger on it at the time. I won't really complain though.

Digging a Ditch - Yet another first for me. A lot of people in my area were sitting down. Fuckers. I love this song, and enjoyed singing along every bit.

Can't Stop - my brother's favorite of the new ones I think. Got some great pictures of Dave's emotions.

Jimi Thing - I thought I'd had enough of this one, but once it got into it, I did too and sang along and then really enjoyed the solos. Even Butch's scat, which I never cared for before, was pretty cool. Dave's was hilarious though, with the crowd laughing. At first it seemed to me like it was sort of "Little Thing"ish, then he did the "look at me now!" thing and I half-seriously interpreted it as a scat for Julia Grey. Funny stuff, can't wait to listen to this part again.

Tripping Billies - It wasn't bad, but it seemed just kind of standard. Loved Boyd's solo though as usual

Loving Wings - Haven't heard since my first two concerts when I didn't know what the hell it was. The story was very touching, and Dave starting each line about a beat after where he usually does made for a very interesting version. The jam was fun, including Rashawn's "I Dream of Jeannie" interpolation.

Watchtower - Heard it a bunch my first few and got tired of it but had been anxious to hear it again. The #1 song my brother wanted and for the first time he really got into it, moving around, singing, arm in the air, etc. Great to get the Fire outro again too.

Like I said, the best weekend ever. I couldn't get over the view of the place, not to mention the venue within itself. It was the closest I'd ever sat, but we were almost as far to the side as you could get, so we never saw Butch or Carter aside from the video screens, and Boyd only when he moved around during a solo. The guys around us were cool, but there were a lot of people coming and going the whole set, more than ever before. Most annoying thing ever. And the balloons and giant ball in the beginning pissed us off to. When we got hold of them (us, the people around us, etc) we popped them. The security guards threw them over the wall too. I want to watch the band, not have that view blocked by 8 fucking floating balloons and a 3' diameter ball. I have no problem with this before the show though. Oh, fun touch with the glowsticks, except for throwing one at Stefan during his Watchtower solo.

I didn't remember til a few hours before the show, but when the 2002 Gorge albums came out, and it was the first I'd heard of and seen the venue, I made it one of my life goals to go see the band there before they stopped touring or before I died :D I didn't think I'd get there so soon, so I have to thank my brother and his job for that. I also loved meeting everyone from Ants, and it didn't bother me until we left that I'd only got to hang out for a couple of hours total. So next year, we're almost definitely coming back, and doing it the right way. And I wanna spend more time with everyone.

Granny - Have heard it at about half of my shows, but I didn't mind it, it hasn't gotten old yet. And he did the "ha, oo! mm, ha, oo!" and "mm baba, mm baba" part which I'd missed the last few times I think.

Typical Situation - Cross another off my list of "still haven't heard live"! Loved it, especially so early in the show, and the jam was great.

brother, you took the words right out of my mouth...i could not agree more with everything you said here, especially about the life long goal and the LIOG...i've already shared this w/ a couple of people...when they got into that jam, everything from the whole weekend, all the emotion, just built up for me at that time...i never thought i would have an emotional moment at a concert, but low and behold that fucken solo just ripped everything outta me...i really think i experienced heaven for 5-10 minutes there...as boyd was jumping up the pace and hitting higher and higher notes, then low, then high, i just saw the sites of the whole weekend flash in the back of my mind as that man was flyin across the stage...the biggest high i can ever remember...
