Now that Big Whiskey has been out for a while now, how does it compare to the big three albums?
I say it it one of the better albums but not sure about being the best album. Probably top three, but not sure about the order.

IMO nothing will ever match or surpass the big three. Big Whiskey is great and is a positive step in a new direction but it is too electric guitar driven for me. The "DMB" sound was born and is personified on Crash, BTCS, and UTTAD.

If you count the Lillywhite Sessions as an album I rank it 5th out of all of the studio work.

Id say its better than everyday and stand up, but I'd take the big 3 and even busted stuff over it.

yes, BWGGK is the 5th best album the band has done.
I wonder if some consider Some Devil >> Big Three...?

I dont think BW compares to the Big 3: BW is a product of a band that is completely different than their mid-90s selves. The vibe is different, the message is different, hell, the reason the wrote it is different really. That being said, I definitely think its on par with the Big 3, without reservation. It still amazes me that they could make this after so many years and after all of the shit that has happened to them, good and bad.
This is all being written under the notion that everyone on this board and everyone on this planet accepts and fully appreciates that UTTAD changed everything. Everything. Crash and BTCS is incredible albums, brilliant pieces of work, never to be duplicated...but they are at their roots what this band created with UTTAD.

I'd say you're spot on.
I don't think they can be compared
