The big question of the last 24 hours.
Thoughts?

They have to. I know it will be hard to lose a brother, founding member, but the tour must go on. There are so many people that planed vacations, and spend 1000's of dollars to go around the world to see them. There is a lot of money already invested by fans to see the remaining shows, so I say it will be hard to, but yes.
After this tour i think they may hang it up for a little while, but they will finish the tour.

My thoughts exactly.
Not only are the fans invested but also the road crew.
Many of those guys are depending on that money to make it through the rest of the year.
Either way, should be really interesting to see how this whole thing unfolds.

I'm with Rob. They'll finish the tour, take a break over the winter/spring, and fire off another summer your in '09.

sounds about right to me.
hope this donest come off as sounding messed up, but this whole situation may spawn off some amazing songs, ala #41 and Pig and Halloween. Dave seems to take horrible points in his life and turn them into some of the greatest songs. What im getting at, the loss of Roi could be the rebirth of the band and the creation of some amazing music.

I said the same thing to my wife, and I don't want to sound selfish either. I think it's a new chapter, possibly a better one. All things happen for a reason. DMB has gotten me through a lot, and their perseverance through this tragedy could help to get me and other fans through much more. Music is their life, it gets them through good times and bad. They need music. They need each other. They need the Dave Matthews Band. And I do too.

I just really hope they at least laid some tracks down with LeRoi on the new album...maybe it's not finished...but I'd like LM's last studio session on an album sold to be DMB's...not Nas's "Hip Hop is Dead" or whatever.

I most certainly hope so. Even if my Gorge tickets are refunded, I don't know what I'd be able to do with my airfare.
My initial feeling was that the tour would be canceled and possibly even the band itself would stop... but now that I've had a good 24 hours to talk to people, read about it and listen to the music, my guy feeling is that they will carry on.
They ended up playing last night, and apparently again tonight (didn't know it was a 2-nighter). If they've managed to play twice within hours of Roi's passing, I should think they'll have it in them to play at their favorite venue.
However... what about the funeral? :shrug
