I sold a poster to bluehorseshoe despite the fact that he had no trade feedback to back him up. Working a deal with such an individual is a mistake I will never make again. In fact, it was kind of like going to a bad Will Ferrell movie - You rarely enjoy the experience, feel unsatisfied when done, and at the end of the day you’ve wasted $10 and several hours of your life.

To his credit, the first half of the deal was smooth. In fact, it was fantastic! Bluehorseshoe paid me quickly and even sent a few extra bucks when UPS told me it would cost more to ship to his rural zip code. Great communications, fast payment, he seemed like a standup buyer! However, as mother always said, things that seem to good to be true typically are.

All of the details of the problem that followed are unimportant for the purposes of this review. Bottom line though is there was apparently minor damage caused to the poster at some point between it leaving my possession and/or it being delivered to him and/or his opening it several days after delivery. As a result buyer was furious with me. Buyer began instantly DEMANDING (literally demanding – not asking, not willing to discuss, not willing to provide photos when requested – but DEMANDING.) a full refund in the most frank and unfriendly terms. Of course he immediately told me that I packaged it improperly (even though to this day I believe the poster was packed very carefully), he set timelines for me and told me if I did not agree to do what he wanted he would just mail it back to me and put in for a returned merchandise claim on paypal. Of course since it has always been my impression that people on these boards trade/buy/sell in good faith, my initial reaction was that perhaps there was damage in shipping and we could simply file a claim with UPS. Like I said, I couldn’t imagine how any damage would occur otherwise! Buyer responded to my request for photos with a message that he would not provide photos because it was MY insurance and MY problem and NOT his and if I wanted to issue a claim that was fine but I was to do it on my own time and refund him his money immediately. Of course this also came with deadlines. Therefore, I went through a period of about 24-48 hours where I was consistently threatened that I would be bad mouthed on these boards if I did not comply with his demands. Needless to say, I became more and more hesitant to tell him to work any deal with him one to one, especially considering that he wouldn’t provide photos at first which raised some trust issues. So I asked him to open a paypal dispute, which he was reluctant to do, but agreed to eventually. In the meantime, within just a couple of hours of opening the paypal dispute, he began his bad mouthing as promised and I found him a buyer eager to take the poster off his hands for what he paid. After he closed out the paypal dispute with me (which he didn’t have to do – he could have elevated it to a claim and had a paypal rep intervene with a solution had he chosen), and after he took the buyers money (and 10% of the poster cost which I threw in to help out the buyer as a thanks), he demanded more money to cover the cost of shipping (despite the fact that in a paypal dispute buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and in this particular situation buyer kept telling everyone on these boards how he was willing to cover the cost of shipping!) When I didn’t agree to send more money, it lead to more ultimatums, threats and bad mouthing.

I strongly suggest that anyone considering doing business with this trader please review the following threads so you have an idea of what I am talking about. Even if you were presented with all of the facts from both sides and agreed that the buyer was 100% right and I the seller was 0% right, please read through these threads so you understand what kind of situation I had to deal with and ask if you would respond in the same manners - especially with the paypal dispute process still working itself out. Seriously, check out how this guy reacted, even after HE voluntarily ended the dispute with paypal and got a full refund for the purchase price of the poster, he STILL demanded additional restitution!

It is also worth checking out my trader feedback to get a better understanding of the point I am trying to make:

Bottom line is bluehorseshoe might be a fantastic buyer or trader to work with assuming there are no snafu’s along the way. Like I said, great and friendly communications at first, and fast payment. However, I imagine your odds of a smooth transaction are stacked against you. In one of the initial convos I had with him, he asked me to be careful to package his poster properly because he had problems recently with other deals. This leads me to believe that either 1) Most online poster/sellers don’t now how to properly package posters, 2) Buyer has incredibly bad luck in that the majority of mail-damaged posters out there land on his desk or 3) Buyers delivery people don’t like him and use his poster tubes as a baseball bat prior to delivery. Whatever the true scenario is I hope all members of this community thinking of making a deal with this individual will take a few minutes to review the threads listed above and then make a decision for themselves regarding whether it is an individual they wish to go forward with. In fact, he has promised to continue to heckle me, even after getting a full refund – so you might want to also consider searching through some of his recent thread posts if you consider making a deal with him at some point in the future beyond my posting this, because my guess is he will continue to never let this go as promised.

Oh, and as a follow up/side note, the individual who wanted his poster that he was complaining about informed me it was one of the “mintest” posters she ever received and is thrilled with it! Glad that at the end of the day it all worked out for all parties involved.

Clint & I worked together on a sale for his Scranton Guitar, Vegas Jack, and Boyd Budich. Bring new here and not knowing anyone I was a little apprehensive about sending him $600+ on the honor system but after this sale I have no doubts working with him again. Everything arrived in MINT condition as stated and communication was excellent. He even saw that I was ISO one of the same posters that he was and offered to help me get it if he could (seller gave him a better deal through PM's). I would say that I now have at least one friend on here and that is a start.

Thanks again.

Clint and I traded a pair of posters and I couldn't have asked for a better transaction. The poster came immaculately packaged (huge sturdy tube, wrapped in plenty of kraft paper) and the condition of the poster was just as he described--mint.

He's got a really high standard for what is regarded as mint and so as a buyer/trader I've been pleasantly surprised by how great they look.

Clint is a top-notch trader on the boards and I'd choose to do business with him as much as possible in the future.

Sold Clint a poster and he paid me pretty quickly. I packaged it up nicely for him in one of those tubes from the show with folding ends. Wouldn't hesitate to deal with again.

I didnt really mail it in one of those.

Just received both 09 fenway prints from clint. He sent the posters out to me the same day I sent him the money. They came very well packaged in the exact condition that he described them to me while working out a deal. He also gave me a great deal on the prints. Will definitely have more transactions with him in the future!

Bought a "little" something special from Clint. Although it wasn't a poster, it was packaged perfectly. Great communication and smooth transaction the whole way. He also gave me a deal on the price for less than what I had originally offered him, which he didn't have to do. Would love to do business with in the future. Great trader here!! :thumbsup Thanks again!!!

Another transaction with Clint and another great experience.

Though the value of the poster he purchased from me was agreed upon, he amicably sent me an additional $15.

Enough cannot be said about bluehorseshoe as a trader and member of this forum.

Standup, generous, patient, and trustworthy guy. Thanks Clint!

Clint purchased my Burgettstown 06 and paid immediately. Not only that, he kicked in an extra $10 toward shipping although shipping was included in the sale. That's what I'm talking about. Thanks and enjoy the print.

Clint purchased a few posters from me. He was great to deal with, upfront about all pertinent information, and he even made sure everyone involved got a fair price for the posters. Truly a standup guy.

He was nice enough (although he needed some peace of mind) to ship me his bazooka...I mean poster tube to ship the prints in. He was patient with the shipping from my end, and was great with responding to emails. I don't think I ever went a couple of hours without a reply.

Great communication, and a great buyer. It was a pleasure to deal with you!

I did a 1 for 2 trade with Clint and I came away satisfied. Transaction took a few days longer than originally anticipated (due to him not receiving the prints in a timely fashion) but I did not waiver or worry one bit due to Clint's communication. My posters arrived in DEAD MINT condition and packed like a true pro. Have no worries about trading with Clint, he is the real deal.

A big thanks to Clint for helping me out last minute with some tickets. He did a lot of legwork on his end during a hectic work schedule and my wife and I appreciated every moment of it. I'm glad I was able to thank him in person at SPAC...truly a pillar of this community, and always makes sure the right thing is done...no matter what!

Thanks Clint!

Got a poster from Clint. Great price and arrived safely. Packaged just like the shipping 101 thread. Will do business with again if the opportunity arises. Asked a bunch of questions not related to the trade and he answered them for me without having to. Good guy.
