Ok, its time for me to step my game up. Who's got HD's, what sizes, what do you think?

Right now I'm in between on two.

1. a 47" Philips 1080P
2. a 52" Sharp Aquos

My wife likes the first, I like the second. We were at this point about 6 months ago and finally gave up and bought this macbook pro I'm typing on instead. Now, we are back on the tv train. Everyone has told me that no matter what size you get, it's going to seem as though you could bigger.

Right now all we have is a Wii to hook up to it but we'll probably get Dish Network shortly.

Thanks, any help is appreciated!

Can't help you on that stuff...but...checkout provantage.com and newegg.com. They have cheap stuff there...cheap prices...not cheap items.

I just got my new HDTV about 2 months ago, and it is awesome in HD. After months of searching, my wife and I went with a Samsung LN46A650 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color. Check it out on Amazon or CNET.com

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-LN46A650-46-Inch-1080p-120Hz/dp/B001413D94/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1222782168&sr=8-1

We chose this one over the Sony I wanted because it was just awesome in person, andd very highly reviewed.

Buy from Amazon and most TV's have free shipping, no tax, and a 30 day price match policy.

For sports and HD movies, this tv is amazing. I watch alot of TV, most in HD...I would suggest getting a Blu-Ray player and HD cable though.

Hope this helps!

Check out the Amazon prices VS say Best Buy, you will be suprised how much less they are :shock .

on that same note, with many of the amazon offers you can get a free blu-ray player.

I'm in the same indecisive boat McGinnis, if you haven't used it already, as DMBfan mentioned "cnet.com" is a great website to compare products. I really trust their tech reviews in general.

Yes, you can purchase one on amazon, they are specific for each TV. I opted to not get one...I hear they are not really worth it, but some people want them...so it's there. I just didn't want to pay the extra $$

What price range are you looking to be in? I would personally stay away from both and depending on price look at the samsung touch of color line or sony XBR line. I am the guy that all my friends, family, and coworkers consult on electronics purchases so feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

What do you see as the downside tothose two models? I'd like to keep my price range between 1400-2000, but it all depends.
