View Full Version : Coffee table books?

I did a search and didn't see anything about this.

There are some eBay listings for mini posters that have been 'sliced out of expensive coffee table books'. I won a lot of these for Pearl Jam, mostly Klausens, which I was really amazed with when they came. PJ posters are ridiculously expensive (DMB is just about on par) and thought it was a great way to get some amazing images affordably.

I've looked for said coffee table books without luck. Does anyone know where these might be sold originally? Some of the quotes/text on the backs of the 'sliced' images I got were awesome.

Thanks for any help! :)

Amesbros.com

Edit: and buy the Art of Modern Rock if you really want a great poster book.

Thanks - I've been looking at that Ames book for awhile. You might have provided the push to just get the dang thing. ;)

I have the Art of modern Rock book, it is very very nice in person. I have had it since it was released, probably 4 or 5 years ago and still like to flip through it. I still haven't purchased the original art of rock or ames bros book, one day I will get around to it.

Anyone who didn't get the Pearl Jam vs. Ames book previously, there is a limited edition print that comes with it now - the green version not the orange. If you still don't want to fork over $50+ shipping for the hardcover, there is a softcover being released in May. You can pre-order the softcover from Overstock.com now for about $20. Do a search for Pearl Jam in books. :) I'm really glad I waited and got a green hardcover with the new print. :)

Hmm...I don't see it when I search on Overstock.

Check out the ridiculous $$ people are looking to get for it on eBay:

Overstock must have sold out of their projected stock - they can be weird when they sell pre-release. Here's the Amazon link, it's about the same price and also has a 5/09 release date:

I watch the Orange cover book value every few days to see how the $ is doing. I've never looked at the listing to see what currency it's in but it's gone as high as $500+. Tough times for George....

I have the orange cover book and would be somewhat tempted to sell it for that kind of money. Realistically, I'd be just as happy with the green one.

Realistically I don't see even the LE holding that kind of value once the paperback comes out. I'm pretty sure most people would be fine with the paperback and still having several hundred $$ in their pocket.

I had that Rolling Stone book on my list but didn't get it. Went to a used bookstore here today to get some stuff for spring semester and saw it sitting behind the counter. For some reason it's new and still wrapped in plastic and is now mine for just $50, which I paid in trade credit.
