I had an idea... just like when a poster sells it ads a dot to the chart - we should have the ability to turn on an overlay of ones that shows the posters that havent sold in another color. I think that would be a better gauge of the posters value.

ha - ok so if the poster is on ebay 100 different times... and sells only 4 times, I think it would give us a better idea of how much in demand the poster is... if it sells ALL 100 times then we would know the true poster history. IMO.

got it. i thought you meant overlapping selling history (graph plots) of posters with various colors (i.e. daveposters floating dave head in blue and yellow) to see what the prices of each color are going for. samsonite...i was way off.

I think this is a good idea. Don't forget, that all eBay sales history in ebeans depends on someone submitting the auction number.
You can submit auctions on the 'For Sale or Trade' tab of the poster. You get points for it, too! ;)

I have an expresso beans related question.
IS there any way to search the database for posters on a specific date, from any artist?
Thanks!

You can use the search on the MyPage for the most flexible criteria. If the artist is part of the dropdown list, it makes doing this easier, though not foolproof. Try something like Methane (from dropdown) and then choose the year for the dropdown. That'll help get you close to what you want.
You can then sort more finely by date once the year's result page comes up. A lot of that depends on how/if people entered the date of the show and multiple date posters will hose you up from go. I think the standard date format is MM/DD on the site.
The artist and year will help narrow the field but finding anything on a particular date will be tedious. You're also going to be relying on someone having submitted all the work for that date/artist as well. Lots of variables but good luck with what you're looking for! :)

Once someone reads/opens them, they are moved to your sent box...

Oh so even though its in "outbox" it is still sent? That seems weird. :lol Kinda cool though actually so you can know when people read them. I see why they do it know. Thanks :)

It was nice to see the hrice history and the graph. They go together like peanut butter and ladies, chinese food and chocolate puding...
Wait those dont really go together.

Seems kinda dumb to have its own tab, IMO...

Agreed. I like it better when everything was together for the sales graph.

Gotcha. I'd sale to see that graph moved to the new tab and be replaced with thumbnails of all the pictures for that print.

I think the bigger the dot the higher price it was sold for
vortec42
Feb 28, 2010, 07:36 PM
I think the bigger the dot, the more posters sold around that timeframe, at around the same price, I think? The Y-axis is the price, so if the size of the dot is the price, I don't understand.
Is this being discussed on their forums at all? I haven't seen it, and can't believe people aren't talking about it...

It's really hit or miss I think. I haven't had any problems recently, but I've just been PM'ing people who have stuff in the For Sale thread.

Couldn't really find the proper thread for this, and didn't feel like starting a new one so I thought I'd just ask this here. How does the Expresso average price, lowest price etc work? I ask because I bought the Alpine Moon for $75 and entered it into my expresso collection about a couple months ago, but according to the stats on the poster, the lowest price says $102.51, just curious?

Did you include shipping or was it damaged? Basically anything out of the ordinary so it would "not be counted"?

No, I just entered very good condition, and that I paid $75.00

Entering it into your collection has nothing to do with average price. All that is personal info.
Prices come from recorded sales. If the seller never recorded the sale it won't come up. (guessing the seller isn't a member.)
Ross you could enter it in as if you were the seller and just in the comments part say you were the buyer.
Otherwise it will go unrecorded.

He could have. Just the way I read it sounded like he just put it in his collection.
For member added sales there is definitely an approval period.
