Sums it up for me. Might have to throw it on the bay tonight, so I have that to fall back on if it doesn't sell on the boards. :thumbsdown

Posting more doesnt necessarily help their rep, in fact, it fucks them most of the time; you end up figuring out they are real assholes...bluehorseshoe included, I guess. I'll save someone on here from having to post it. :thumbsup

i sold three posters (noblesville 03, tinley 04, and vegas ace) a couple months ago. i had quit my job to go to deer creek n2 and then needed money for food and rent. i didn't have any feedback and, since i've been working almost nonstop since then, my post count was almost what it is now.
fortunately for me i've met a handful of y'all...even before i joined the board. i drift in and out of the boards. sometimes i post a lot in a few threads, other times i just eavesdrop on your conversations. :)
i do think though, that there are a lot of people who are learning of our habit and making a buck off it. :sob

there seems to have been a lot of new people joining DP within the last month. My advice to them is this, karma rules in this place, do good things for others and they'll do good things for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fuck up and you'll here it, so don't fuck up!

I dont understand why all the hate on newbies, noobs, or whatever else you like to call us. I mean I understand the "give the rookie hell" mentality and I'm all for having to take a little sh*t before earning some respect around here, but this week has gotten to be a little much. It's like the "join date: Sept.8th, 2009" under my name might as well be a huge target on my back.
I see people with Join dates in 06 and 07 doing shady sh*t on here, Eb,and Ebay. So I dont think a time stamp on a free internet account should be the basis of how one's character is judged. We shouldnt all be lumped in to the same category as the penis wrinkles who are signing up just to flip 6 posters of a show they were lucky enough to attend. (adsheppa cough cough)
Do we forget we all, for the most part, are passionate about this music which ironically spreads the message of sex, death, and love.
So death to all the jerks trying to make a quick buck of the passion of others. Love to all doing the right thing to fellow DMB fans. And sex to everyone so all can come back with a better attitude next week.

Agree with OP. But with so many things there is too many gray areas when it comes to stuff like this. I do like this community A LOT more than some other DMB fan sites.

I looked up the going prices on ebeans, and ebay before posting it here to educate myself on the going rate that day. On the date that I offered it up, I was pretty on par with the going rate for the condition it is in (look at what some of your more "senior" comrades sold theirs for in the early days and then this would be pot calling a kettle black, it seems). I am not stupid, so please don't assume that. Yeah, I realize the value has dropped in the several days since you all have been hijacking my thread (and now this poor guy's). I researched that too. But yet no one has made an offer at a different price. I never said I wasn't open to that.
It seems that what is really going on here is that some of you are just pissy because you couldn't get to the festival in person to take advantage of the "no limit" on how many of these we could buy. Cause if you could, you'd be doing the same thing - selling & trading them. :loco

haha just found this thread, i'm a penis wrinkle. awesome. sorry i had 6 posters and multiple people on here wanted to buy them for more than what I paid for them. I guess I shoulda said to them "no man, i must sell them for face or less or i will be branded as a penis wrinkle".
yea it was a comment during the heat of battle, had a great time at the festival which i was lucky to attend (place to stay, airplane tickets and 3 day festival pass all for free at that!)

if you got lodging, airfare and festival passes for free why didn't you do everyone a favor and sell the posters at face and help people out? that's why you're a penis wrinkle. you came here with the intent to flip and to flip only. you pretty much just shot yourself in the foot there buddy.

nope, not my intent for coming in here. i was part of this community like 2 months beforehand, before i even knew for sure if i was going to austin. i gave a print to a friend on here and other friends that collect posters. i had extras, people wanted them, people paid ebeans average at the time for them. i sold 3 on here traded the last for KC piano.
my intents for this website was to find a poster i was looking for, raleigh 07 poster. still dont have it.
not once has really anyone on here actually "helped" me out, so i dont feel that since my friend's grandparents wanted to bring me to austin with him to go to a festival i had to sell prints to people on here for face. i wasnt the only one selling posters from this show.
if people send me offers for 200+, why not sell it? i could definitely use the money in this economy.
