Typical on Cold Case

sitting here watching Cold Case, which I've always says plays the best music of any show on TV, and Typical Situation just came on. Nothing big...but was pretty impressed they picked that song.

We don't get to watch much tv, but it just so happens that we did catch this and heard it playing. We were wondering if they just get to pick and play whatever they want or if they have to get permission.
