My principal was always impressed when the candidates researched the district and school and knew a lot of facts about school programs and student demographics and could tie that into their answers and questions.

Yeah I've done the research and have a friend that works there. I think it will just be a matter of whether or not they want to hire a first year teacher who hasn't actually opened up a kindergarten room before, since i student taught in the Spring. Sure, I have risked my life at Beacon and SPAC N2 to get a poster, spent 2 hours pre-show running up and down the hills at the Gorge going to every limit-1 merch booth to get prints so Freddy could “hook his buddies up,” endured the lessons on how to roll and not roll a poster and how to examine corners and edges before purchasing, held Gary! Stickers in my purse, and even “discovered” a homemade way to keep a poster tube on your back during a show, but I would not do any of these crazy things on my own. Most of us would never wear a DP.com shirt, or deface property with more stickers. We cringe just thinking about the amount of money we spend on these posters and how they are taking over our houses.

But, this all makes Freddy happy so I smile and gladly jump into all of this craziness because he does a whole lot more for me. The best part is actually getting to meet people and make new DMB friends. This past weekend was so much fun because we all got to hang out and Bre, Trish, Sara, and I (and Laura in spirit) found a connection with girls who were all in THE SAME BOAT! I realize I am not speaking for all the girls, but I think there is another thread for “the ladies of DP”… Please don’t get us confused.

If he had his way, I'd have a poster allowance and not a penny more than the allotted amount would be spent on them. I told him that the day that I can set his "electronics allowance," he can set my "poster allowance." :p

Ok, ok, I'm here...who knew I was in such high demand?? There will never be anytime for me to check this site since Todd is on it pretty much every free moment. I too had a nice time this weekend but have not yet recovered...I'm still completely exhausted. I'm too old to pull off 20-hour days!! But all in all the shows were great and really did enjoy myself. It was nice to meet everyone. Thank you so much, by the way, for all of the work you and Fred did with the food and drink!!

Glad you enjoyed the weekend! Alpine is always exhausting even as our home venue. It definitely takes a lot of DMB stamina! I remember our first 2 night stand. Worst hangover ever, and there was not even much alcohol involved! Add flying on top of a 2 or 3 night stand and you have a multi-day recovery to deal with. Hopefully you didn't have to work today!

I'll be honest, I have helped out with a couple of field trips...and only having 5-6 was plenty exhausting. I think there's a lot less structure on a field trip...but couldn't imagine a classroom...
