I noticed there are a lot of people looking for N2 tix and I am cancelling my trip. Thought I would make this at least a little more fun...for me at least.

What is the link between the great Wrigley Field and the screwdriver?

Answer this correct and I will sell the tix to you at face + fees. PM with your answers.

If no one answers it, then I will just sell them.

Close...you are obviously on the right track, but still not there. There is more to the story. The rest of the story is actually written in a book. If no one else gets closer by noon AZ time, then I will sell them.

Hint: Philip Wrigley did not invent the phillips head screwdriver.

That's what I saw in the first google search I had! It sounded like it wasn't right to me, but now that he said it was in a book, it sounds right to me. Shoulda gone with it!

Could it be that wrigley used the same screwdriver to build the mansion that he used to build the upper deck bleachers or scoreboard

Phillip wrigley is also the name of the founder of the Phillips screwdriver.

Alright guys and gals, Freddy (mxpxillini) is the winner. He was the closest. There really isn’t a fair way to assess who get the opportunity to buy these since no one got the correct answer and a few were close, but since he was the first one to call the mansion and the first one to send me a PM with the close answer, he is the winner.

The answer:
Long story...
Philp Wrigley didn't invent the phillips head screwdriver.

I took a tour of the Wrigley Mansion in Phoenix and was told that he invented the phillips head screwdriver; I was skeptical. After I heard the story, I talked to my brother-in-law, a long time Chicago native and cubs fan—disappointing I know. He said that he didn't invent the screwdriver, but in the early 20’s invented the predecessor to the phillips head screwdriver. He invented a screwdriver with a lever that held the screw to the driver. After he made a prototype, he abandoned the idea and gave the rights to his mechanic. The actual inventor of the phillips head screwdriver was Henry Phillips. He invented a far superior design without a lever which had a deep crosspoint which centered the screw and held the screw to the driver.
My brother-in-law showed me some book that he read and there it was. Philip was an inventor and has several patents. If you go back and look at old patent records, Philip Wrigley has several patents and some of them are under a name Sweeney, not sure who that is, maybe his mechanic.

Anyway, that's the story. I appreciate all that were interested. I had over 20 PM's. Google is smart, but sometimes you still have to read books. Also, my lady is pissed we're not going with these awesome tickets too.

Fred-
Congrats. My paypal is in your inbox. Enjoy the show!

Chris
