The weekend it would normally on was god awful. So hopefully this is a good move.

Random variants eh? Interesting. Fair. But a departure from what everyone was used to and I'm sure that pisses people off.

There was a ton of bitching on the BA thread. What are you going to do? Its the craft beer scene, there will ALWAYS be someone complaining.

Map is out. One entrance only. Opens at 6AM to a holding area with bathrooms, food trucks and beer for sale....then gates open at 9AM for the event.

    I like this.

I bailed on a ton of my beer groups because I couldn't take the guys attempting to dictate what is good and what isn't to me.

I also stopped looking at BA ratings after beers from TreeHouse that hadn't even been released were making into the top 50 beers.
ISO - Bristow 09, Budich Bombshell, ROC 02.

    FT/FS - Wolverhampton (cost+shipping)

    Swan Song - Budich Carter.

I want a sticker that reads "BUDICH FAIL!!"

You mean you didn't know that if it release has a bottle count over 500 it doesn't taste as good?

I don't even bother with 99.9% of special releases anymore. If I can't readily find a beer, then I just don't bother. There are too many other great beers on the shelf to worry about it missing out on the flavor of the week.

So do I show up in my rain gear for this regardless due to tradition? In seven years this is the first nice weather one.

We had a sunny, somewhat warm year once. But the wind was out of control. I had pretty legit wind burn.

Thankfully they didn't do it two weeks ago like they always do. Weather was brutal that day.

    Hey Michigan peeps.

ISO 2 bottles or a 4 pk of BA Expedition Stout whatever you can spare really

    http://tenemu.com/news/bells-release...t-2017/06/2017

According to a spokesperson at the brewery, Bourbon Barrel-Aged Expedition Stout 2017 is packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles ($28) and was released today at the brewery’s General Store in downtown Kalamazoo, Mich. with a limit of two four-packs per person. In addition, the spokesman told Tenemu that bottles would see distribution, but that it would be “very limited” and only in the state of Michigan.

Nice to see some action around this ghost town too. Now's always about the time I start wondering about an old fashioned DP beer Santa... anyone interested? Some hot new local breweries around here...

I'll start up a running list, although I have a feeling it will be pretty small. Please include your location as well so we can make sure we have variety in locations...

    1) DMBNirvana - ?
    2) vortec42 - Detroit
    3) gocav23 - Cville?
    4)

If we don't get enough people - I'm curious if you guys have any recommendations about where to trade beer if not here... I am not huge on trading but like to get some variety maybe once or twice a year. I really liked this group because it was a fairly small group where most people sort of knew each other. Joining a larger trading group like beeradvocate or on reddit doesn't seem as fun to me, and I'd be nervous about getting scammed. Anyone have any recommendations?

Beeradvocate used to be the hot spot but it got wayyyy overmoderated and they sucked the fun right out of it. I trade on Facebook when there's something I really wanna try. At this point I have one regular trade partner in Michigan and I'm in a FB muling group where guys will just go buy $6k worth of beer for the group, everyone sends $ via paypal and emails labels, and you get to try rarer, out of state stuff for a small premium. I'm in 6 or 7 local trading groups on Facebook too tho just to see where rarer beers are being valued at and to try stuff I might miss.

I'd trade or mule Chicago area stuff for you if you'd like regularly.
    Where's my #40?
